"Amber and Smoke" is Bill Rotella's 3rd solo album after recording 3 albums with L.A acoustic rock band "Dakota" and 2 albums with southern rock band "Baywood". This new album represents some expansion both musically and lyrically. There are many different guitars, some great musicians and much vocal harmony.... including the shared lead vocals of a great young singer, Amber Olive.
Bill comes from a family of musicians and writers. His father, Johnny Rotella, wrote songs for Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and many others and was a fixture in L.A recording sessions. Bill's uncle, Jerry Gray, was a big band arranger and wrote the hit swing tunes "String of Pearls", Chattanooga Cho Choo", "Pennsylvania 6-5000" and many others.
Bill Rotella is a prolific songwriter. "Amber and Smoke" contains some of his finest music to date.
